  • A celebrity endorsement is serious business

A famous celebrity once told a reporter that she was wearing one of my company’s shades of lipgloss on an award show red carpet. Several months’ worth of stock in that shade were sold in weeks.
That sounds great, but it kind of sucked on the production end. There was no advance notice, and it takes a few months for some factory in Europe to cook up more lipgloss (especially since this was already our most popular shade). Those months are filled with reports of angry customers demanding to know why they need to wait for their lips to look like the lips of a famous person.
