How Adam Johnson had sex with a child under 16;Photo
Footballer Adam Johnson has been charged with three offences of sexual activity with a child under 16 and one of grooming, Durham Police said.
The Sunderland footballer attended a police station this morning to answer bail after he was arrested earlier this year.
Johnson was initially suspended and then reinstated by the club following the allegation.
The 27-year-old winger was arrested at his mansion in leafy Castle Eden, County Durham, on March 2.
Durham Police had previously extended his bail for five weeks.
