Nigerians are among the three happiest nations in Africa, according to the recently published survey sponsored by UN. Unfortunately, the calculated World Happiness index also shows that people in other African countries are unhappiest people on Earth.

According to the third annual World Happiness index, calculated as a result of the extensive survey, the happiest people on Earth live in Switzerland. The index takes into consideration such indicators as GDP per capita, life expectancy, levels of civil rights and social freedoms and corruption levels.
None of African countries could get into the top 5 happiest countries.
At the same time, the World Happiness report 2015 shows that the list of unhappiest countries to live in almost completely consists of African countries.

Nevertheless, Nigeria is among three happiest countries on African continent along with Libya and Algeria.

As can be seen from the graph, such African countries as Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Chad, Central African Republic and Madagascar are really unhappAmong 158 countries in the World Happiness index Nigeria is ranked 78th. Over the last two years Nigeria slightly lifted its position from 82nd country in the World Happiness index. Besides Nigeria the happiest African countries are Libya, ranked 63-th, and Algeria, ranked 68th.
